In 2020, MIKS-CONSTRUCTION Ltd. started the construction of the "Petascale Bulgaria Supercomputing Center", which is located on the territory of Sofia Tech Park. The building includes two parts - the part between axes 1 and 3 is a future development area, and between axes 3 and 5 houses the Petaskeil computer "HPC Bulgaria" and its necessary installations, the implementation is realized in 4 stages.
The scope of activity of MIKS-CONSTRUCTION Ltd. includes the implementation of stage 1 as follows:
- - volumetric construction of the building
- - execution of the civil engineering works between axes 3 and 5
- - vertical planning
- - parking and improvement works
In Stage 1, the structure was built with a design of precast concrete - columns, main and secondary beams. The roof slope is secured with the beams, capitals and trapezoidal sheeting serving as the base of the roof covering. The internal walls are of two types - precast reinforced concrete 15 cm thick and lightweight plasterboard partition walls. The roof is flat with internal drainage. The main slopes are filled with the structural elements and the additional ones with inserts of thermal insulation materials. Three-layer sandwich panels with mineral wool filling 15 cm thick are installed on the façade. The vertical planning around the building has been completed - paving, site installations, foundation for a future diesel generator, installation of entrance/exit barriers for vehicles and landscaping around the perimeter of the building.
Stage 1 was successfully commissioned in July 2021.
