Modernisation of an existing electrical equipment plant

In 2013 ABB Avangard JSC - Sevlievo Branch launched a technological modernization of part of the existing building stock without the need to change the purpose of the buildings. In order to improve the working environment, activities were undertaken to achieve modern energy efficiency standards and modernize the appearance, external roof renovation, as well as renovation of the building structure. The scope of reconstruction and modernisation includes the production building and the administration building, and MIKS-CONSTRUCTION Ltd. has been nominated to perform the civil engineering works relating to the production building. The production building is located in depth, south-west of the office building, with which it is in contact through the thermal connections of the joint, due to the different type of construction. It is composed of two main buildings - the Magnet Premise, and the Main Premise, in which separate production areas are formed - the painting area, the storage area, the assembly area, the packing and packaging area, the dispatch and delivery area. The renovation concept envisages and is being implemented a complete change of all external surfaces - facades and roof. A complete replacement of the facade windows with PVC windows, glazing with improved performance, as well as cladding of the solid parts of the facades with mineral wool panels and profiled face sheet in RAL 9006 colour was carried out. The roof is insulated with slabs of mineral wool min. 165 kg / cub.m, 160 mm, on which a waterproofing of two layers of bituminous membrane is performed. All roof drains and drain verticals have been replaced. The production building is constructed with prefabricated reinforced concrete structure - columns on single foundations, overhead and transverse vorendel beams, respectively on a 12,00 m and 18,00 m axis, the roof is made with 300/600 cm trough panels. Reinforcement and refurbishment of the entire existing precast concrete structure was carried out by MIKS-CONSTRUCTION Ltd.
